A scientific study released today concludes that the positive spritual effects of psilocybin last at least a year:

(but perhaps you knew that already)

never felt too positive on mushrooms, never cared for them, acid was more agreeable with me personally...

And I enjoyed both, each for it's own reasons. On 'cid I was much more energetic, while on shrooms (and just about any other organic hallucinogen I've tried) I was more mellow and introspective. Although I never thought that closing myself in an adobe hotbox during August in Arizona was a particularly appealing idea. Different strokes for different folks.

yeah, same here

and i couldnt handle a hotbox completely straight with 5 gallons of cool water at my disposal. damn, i hate heat and humidity :)

(although on a few large doses of cid, i cannot actually say i was too energetic - more like sitting on the ground contemplating "what the hell is going on")

the only time i did shrooms i stood in my bathroom and laughed hysterically at the strange looking dude in the mirror for what felt like hours. ah, the good old days. i looked into making shrooms and it seems to be pretty difficult to pull off.

Acid could have a razor sharp edge that could scare the shit out of you (or maybe it was just me?), while mushrooms were more "squishy" and "inviting" to me---kinda like a psychedelic bean bag. Also, acid's duration was sometimes an issue---realizing you're 3hrs into it & you're tripping even harder than an hour before, and you STILL have another 5-8 hrs of it coursing through your synapses. 5-8 hours was the max time on mushrooms, w/the peak happening within several hours of ingestion, and usually a smoother comedown, especially with a little THC to level things off.

10/19/89 Spectrum, 1st show---bought 5 hits, took one at the show & one more maybe a week later. Sold one hit & gave the other two hits to 2 female friends I was hoping to maybe get busy with---no luck though. About 11 years ago I took my last dose of LSD, and it was pretty good. My last mushroom experience was maybe only a gram or two, so it wasn't too intense, just nice & "bouncy", and that was 10 years ago. Also a couple hits of mescaline around the same time. Psychedelics have too high of a psychic cost for me to consider doing them anymore. Might consider eating a small dose of mescaline if it's even made by anyone anymore. All that seems to be around anymore are the club drugs---YUCK!

That study is detailed to much greater lengths in a recent Discover Magazine (a subscription I get) and is very interesting. Beside the use of psilocybin for cancer patients there are other studies using LSD (once again actually) in treating of patients with emotional trauma and the overall positive mental/spiritual effects (in a controlled environment of course).

Boy I love both options, though LSD was always my first choice at shows. Just felt I had more energy from it and you could trip balls at the show and still have the energy to drive to the next show on it.

Shrooms on golf courses?? Tell me more, I've been playing the wrong damned courses then.

Yeah, a few here and a few there. You won't find a lot. Now I would not recommend eating while golfing, but you never know.
I here you on the acid. If you timed it right it made for one hell of a night.Like the energizer bunny. Have you ever tried E?
